While in Washington DC, there are a lot of sightseeing tours that you can take part of. If this is your first time in the city, choose the tour that best fits your physical abilities and hobbies. Among the many Washington DC tours available, you have:

Bicycle tours

For only $40, you can rent a bike and a helmet to tour the city. More often than not, a bottle of water and some snacks are included in the package as well. Well-informed tour guides usually give tourists a quick run-through of the city aboard a bike.

Boat Tours

Washington DC is blessed with great bodies of water that you are free to explore using boats. Most boat tours come with costumed guides and they usually last for an hour or so. You can certainly explore Washington DC using a bus. A bus tour usually lasts for five hours to as long as 2 days. The rate depends upon the length of the tour. The bus lines that offer such a service to tourists are Gray Line and Capital Entertainment, among many others.

Walking Tours

If you want a closer look at your subjects, you can certainly go a walking tour to check out the attractions in and around the city. Washington DC's Cultural Tourism group manages the walking tours. You might need to reserve advance tickets to be part of it, though.
